ASBESTOS LAND: REVIVING WITTENOOM
We explored Wittenoom, a ‘ghost town’ erased from maps due to asbestos contamination, asking whether toxicity itself could become profitable; the project reimagined the town’s identity and infrastructure, transforming abandoned spaces into platforms for new industries and reframing contamination as opportunity, while using Rhino to develop a storytelling-driven 3D environment that visualized both the town’s destruction by asbestos and our strategic approach to making it economically viable, ultimately resulting in a presentation and poster that articulated how design can uncover unexpected value in forgotten places.
